The Family Get-Away

Springbrook is the perfect example where additional space was required for a Weekender Away for several family members.
Housing101 was commissioned by the owners to design and construct an extension to the existing house, as well as a self contained secondary dwelling. These additional spaces enabled three separate, livable areas and maximised the views that ranged from North Stradbroke Island to the NSW border.
Access was difficult as the location was at 3000 feet in a very high rainfall area. In addition, suitable local labour was hard to source which forced Housing 101 to take a creative approach to the construction of the home.
Housing101 constructed the modules off-site and then had the modules craned into position. Fit out and extensions such as patios, roofs and decks were constructed on site. Even though modules used, were built off-site in a controlled environment, it was important to maintain the high standard of architectural merit.
The original home started as a one bedroom residence. It now boasts a separate self-contained one bedroom residence plus a further two separate bedrooms with ensuites.
